Ngaio
Ngaio is a sunny, family-friendly suburb in the North-Western suburbs of Wellington. The Ngaio Village shops contain all the essentials as well as a library and cafes.
Ngaio itself is in the area for several good schools covering a range of ages, and is in the prime are of Wellington for walking tracks and the gorgeous outdoors. It contains Trelissick Park, which links Ngaio to Kaiwharawhara via the scenic gorge route, and is a short distance from the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary and the Otari-Wilton Bush Reserve.
Khandallah is a short distance away and offers more village shops, delicatessens and a good restaurant, or drive just a few minutes into Central Wellington and take your pick of what's on offer.
The Johnsonville train line services the suburb, linking it to Wellington Central and Khandallah. |
