Johnsonville sits towards the northern edge of Wellington City, Khandallah and Newlands. It is very handy to the city from the motorway and it enjoys its own suburban rail link on the ‘Johnsonville Line.

The Johnsonville area has long been an attractive option as a residential location, to those who choose to live outside of the city but who wish to be within easy reach by train, bus or car. As such it’s closer than some of the other commuter territories of Porirua, Hutt City, Upper Hutt and the Kapiti Coast. The area is also very well served by amenities, with schools, parks, extensive shopping area,and medical centres in the area, as well as the Keith Spry Swimming Pool.
